Fusion #5

Hello!

I'm back with another Fusion Challenge card! I've gone one layer and I've taken one little portion of the inspiration photo and used the colours as well for this one.
See the lower left corner of the inspiration photo, where there are the line drawings over the coloured splotches? That is where I found my inspiration! :-) I took my Mama Elephant Nursery Deco stamps, flipped them over and stamped the splotches, and then flipped them the right way  to stamp the black line images. I've never used this technique before. I think I'll play around with it a little more, it was fun! Colours are Distress Ink Mustard Seed, and SU! Pool Party. The black was Ranger Archival Black. I'm still intrigued by that handbag, too... perhaps I'll come back later in the week to respond to that little piece of inspiration. ;-)
If you'd like to see some of the other inspiration on offer for this challenge, why not drop by the rest of the design team?

Some of you will remember my dog Coco's adventures three weeks lost in the wilderness (of suburban Brisbane) through January. We took her for a haircut on the week-end, and under her fur I found her weight has been fully recovered (and perhaps a little extra, oops!). Here are some before and after photos. I like her furry, but the heat is too high at the moment to leave her with too much cover.
This week I've been in Perth. As this post goes live I will be flying back into Brisbane. I have never been to Perth. It is over five hours flight away, on the other side of the country. Unfortunately I only get one and a half days and I'm working the whole time, otherwise I would be catching up with some of my friends while I'm there. I can't believe I'm going to Perth and can't meet up with anyone!! I probably won't even get to see much of the City, and I hear it is beautiful. I might have to get up early and take a little walk. :-)

Thank-you for visiting! I hope to see you over at Fusion soon!

Butterfly Hello!

Hello!

I made a second card for Fusion Challenge this week, and forgot to share it. There are still a few hours before the challenge closes, so if you feel like joining in, you could try out your speed-stamping skills. ;-)
I completely forget the details of what I used. The butterfly stamps are PTI Heart-2-Heart #10. The paper is My Minds Eye, I think. The sentiment stamp is Avery Elle, white embossed.
Anyway, I have way too much to do, and definitely not enough time in which to do it, so I'll be off and hope to see you again soon! :-)

Fusion #4

Hello!

It's Fusion Challenge time! When I first saw our inspiration photo, I was (of course) thinking of butterflies. I played around with butterfly ideas for such a long time, lol! I really wanted to make a card that was a fusion, and my butterfly ideas just didn't work with the sketch. So I started thinking a little more laterally, and thought about things that fly - so I thought butterflies - birds - feathers - and ended up here:
I used Waltzingmouse Stamps Fine Feathers stamps. A wide expanse of white card and a little pink ribbon and, voila! I was finished! Ultra clean and layered. :-)
Our Fusion design team have done amazing work again this week, and they are all worth a visit. ;-)

Thank you for popping by! I can't wait to see the entries this time around, the last couple of weeks have been fabulous!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Recipe Card Challenge

Hello,

I'm bringing you a couple of cards today which I made using the sketch and colour recipe cards in the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge.

First up is this masculine Valentine, for the guy who doesn't like gushy and mushy and pink. ;-)
I used PTI Teach and Inspire (chevrons) and Sending My Love stamps. I also used Fillable Frames #10 die. You would not believe the effort in adding that little bit of stitching. The recipe called for stitching, so I persevered, lol!

I turned the sketch upside down.
And I used this colour recipe. Isn't it so pretty?! :-)

My second card is much more girly!
I used PTI Ruby Rose and Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamps.

I didn't move very far from the sketch recipe, it was just lovely! I didn't want to cover up the pretty flowers, so I used vellum for the sentiment strip, with black embossed sentiment.
The colour recipe was irresistible prettiness.
All seven of the sketch recipes and seven colour recipes are beautiful. I hope I can find some time to get back to making more cards with them.

Today we had our niece come to visit. It was so nice to spend some time with her. My girls love their big cousin. I love that now she is all grown up that she can just jump in the car and drive down to see us sometimes. :-)

Thank-you for dropping by to look at my cards!

Cure For The Monday Blues #3

Hello!

There is a new little challenge that is in its third week. I wanted to join in the first two weeks, but ran out of time. It's Taheera's Cure For The Monday Blues challenge. Taheera's inspiration photos really get the ideas flowing!

My card took the inspiration and pretty much transferred it onto card. I don't think you'll miss where I got the inspiration from, lol!
I used PTI Square Prints and Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamps. Ink is Memento Tuxedo Black. Two little bits of washi and a pretty brad (Studio Calico Snippets) finish it off.
Today is the last day of my holiday. I haven't achieved half of what I needed to get done. I'm back to work on Monday. :-(  I have totally enjoyed being at home, having the time to settle the kids into their new classes and dropping them to and from school. It's such a relaxed life when work doesn't take most of the day! :-)

Thanks for visiting!

Love

Hello!

I've had this little idea in my head forever, since I bought PTI Square Prints (which is a LONG time). Someone else has probably already made the same card, the idea has been hanging around in my head for so long, lol! But, finally I decided it was time to put ink to paper and get it out of my head.
I used PTI Square Prints and Mama Elephant So Breezy. Inks are Memento Luxe Rose Bud and Memento London Fog.

I'm entering this into Addicted to CAS where the code word is LOVE.
I'm also entering this as my second entry into the One Layer Simplicity challenge where the challenge is to repeat stamp. I love how these squares make such pretty patterns when repeat stamped, they were made for cards like this!
Thanks for coming by. Today I am attempting to mow the lawn, take the Christmas tree down, do some loads of washing, clean the bathrooms, and vacuum the floors... all before school pick up. Wish me luck!

Butterfly rainbow

Hello!

Today I bring you a rainbow of butterflies!
The stamps are Craft's Meow Butterfly Kisses. The sentiment is actually gold, but I found it hard to photograph the sparkle of it.

I made this card for One Layer Simplicity Challenge #2. I had meant to enter Challenge #1 in celebration of the fact that One Layer Wednesday just became bigger and better, but time ran out on me!

I also made this card to celebrate Less Is More's 3rd Birthday, where they are celebrating with rainbows. :-)

While I had this little stamp set out, I made another simple one layer card.
The white sections of the fairy's wings sparkle. The simplicity of this card makes me smile.

And before I go, here is my Peggy, stretching herself up to her full 4-week-old height. The chicks are spending their days outside in the coop (they come inside at night still). They're hilarious to watch when I pop them in there - there are chicken races and wing-flapping competitions galore!
Thanks for dropping by to visit!

Wedding Congratulations

Hello!

I made another card for the Mama Elephant Challenge. The inspiration photo really made me think of weddings, so I made a wedding card.
I used Mama Elephant Flashy Letters, Nursery Deco, and Filigree stamps. The sentiment and lace are silver embossed. The striped background is PTI Hibiscus Burst paper overlayed with vellum. I added a few sequins and a pink stripe to finish it off.
While I had my ME supplies out, I made another card. This one really appeals to me. It's different to my usual style, more inky, more messy. But it still looks like my work, I think. :-)
I used Mama Elephant Party Kit stamps and Femme Frames die. Colours are Distress Ink Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain, SU! Early Espresso, PTI Berry Sorbet. I sprayed the lot with gold Smooch spray.

Here we are getting back into the school year. The school swimming started today, and my 6 & 11 year olds discovered that they are in the pool at the same time (to their delight). They are in different parts of the school (Junior School and Middle School) so rarely see each other, so having a lesson in the same place at the same time is a nice change. This afternoon my big girl started back at her violin lessons, with her brand new (beautiful sounding) full-size violin. Tomorrow my little girl has her very first violin lesson. Exciting times!

Thanks for coming by to visit.
