CAS(E) This Sketch 112 - hello!

Hello!

I think you are going to start getting tired of me saying that the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch is fabulous week after week, but I have to say, it's true!! My team mates create the BEST sketches under the sun and this week's sketch by Chrissy is no exception.

I had a lot of fun creating this card. First I masked off that top section and sponged distress inks on the rest of the card. Then I stamped in silver. Then die cut the card base and about four extra hellos to pop up the word. While the die-cutting and glueing is time-consuming, it is so worth it for the end result.
I used PTI Wonderful Words: Hello stamps and die and Sparkle & Shine stamps. Inks are Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick and Tumbled Glass, Hero Arts silver, and SU Blackberry Bliss.
I cannot wait to see what everyone creates with this sketch. There are many, many possibilities!

See you in the gallery!

Fusion - pastel feathers

Hello!

Fusion Card Challenge is so much fun this week! The inspiration photo is fun (I'm wishing I had bowties to use) and the sketch is awesome! I used both with a little bit of creative interpretation to create a fusion of sketch and photo inspiration. I've seen a few very cool bowtie cards in the past couple of weeks so I have high hopes for the cards I'll see in the gallery! :-)
I used Waltzingmouse Stamps Funky Feathers stamps. Sentiment is from WM Fine Feathers. Colours are SU! Cameo Coral, Pool Party, Pretty in Pink, and Poppy Parade.
It's been a while since I shared a photo of my dog, Coco. So here are a couple for your viewing pleasure. ;-)

Before her grooming on the week-end.
We always feel a little sad giving her a short clip when she's so cute and fluffy, but then she turns to velvet and we forget all about the fluff!
And just for fun, a close-up of her nose.
Thank-you for visiting! I hope you can join us at Fusion this week. If you wander over to the right side-bar, you'll find the links of all my team mates. They're definitely worth a visit. :-)

CAS(E) This Sketch 111

Hello!

Here in Brisbane, we're in the middle of some rather rainy weather. With Tropical Cyclone Marcia bearing down on the North Queensland coast overnight, the weather is certain to get worse before it gets better. My kids' school is on stand-by for closure. We have to check at 6am. I'm thinking school will go ahead, it's wet but it isn't too windy just yet (although that could change overnight). I'm wondering if the Lunar New Year celebrations this week-end will go ahead as planned. I'm not sure the dancing dragons like the rain too much! Fingers crossed we get a pause in the rain on Saturday night when I am out celebrating with the family. :-)

I'm here with my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. I've managed to somehow mix the sketch elements up. They're still there, just in slightly different positions, lol! I think I got carried away colouring and splattering. ;-)
Looking at this card, I get a sense that I've seen it before. Have I accidentally copied someone's idea? If I have, let me know so that I can credit their influence on my subconscious! I did a search on Blended Bloom and Gorgeous Grunge stamps, but didn't find anything similar, so maybe it is just an odd case of deja vu. I'm loving that rich, luscious rose! It almost bursts off the card!
I can't wait to see what you all make with this sketch as inspiration! I'll look for you in the gallery. My internet service returned to normal today, so hopefully I can do some visiting. :-)

Thanks for dropping by to visit me!

CAS(E) This Sketch 110

Hello!

This week's sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch inspired me to make not just one card, but two!  In fact, I think this sketch could be used in many different ways over and over again. :-)
I have momentarilly forgotten the names of the stamp sets I used. I will update a little later when my memory returns. ;-) Both cards use Stampin' Up! sets. This one may be Hey There Bud. Colour is Night of Navy.
Isn't this sketch awesome? Leigh did a stellar job on this one!
I must go and find out these stamp set names, lol! This one has something to do with Embellishments... I am having internet issues, so no quick checking online at the moment. I'm just lucky that the system is letting me load these posts (very slowly)!

Thank-you for dropping by to visit me! I hope I see you over at the Gallery for this week's challenge.

Fusion - Teal, Orange, and Brown

Hello!

It's Fusion time again! Last challenge had SO MANY awesome entries! This time we move away from the hearts and go for a modern colour palette of teal, orange, and brown. I still stuck with the "love" theme. I couldn't resist.

I used both inspiration photo and sketch to create a fusion card. At first glance, I wasn't sure I could use the sketch, but it turns out that I CAN add some layers every now and then. ;-)
I used PTI Doodlie-Do stamps and dies. Colours are SU! Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, and PTI Fine Linen.
I hope you are inspired to join in on the fun!

Thanks for visiting. :-)

CAS(E) This Sketch 109

Hello!

How are you? I'm currently thankful that blogland does not require the use of my voice... I'm on my fourth day of laryngitis. I have had four full days at work that have involved numerous telephone calls and teleconferences. The funny part, and really lovely part, is that my colleagues are so willing to listen carefully to my whispers over the telephone when it would be easy enough to say "Oh, we didn't hear you". It makes me feel that they actually want to hear my input. Those of you who don't know me in real life may not know that I can be a little LOUD and VERBOSE and OPINIONATED sometimes (despite being a raging introvert). Being forced to be quiet has been a different experience for me! I am wondering why I was silenced just at this time... some reflection may be required! ;-) It's Friday tomorrow (today in Australia) and I will admit that I am desperate for some extra sleep to try to kick this nasty bug that has a hold of me. Just one more day of work until the week-end! Yay!

I'm here to share my card for CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. I went very simple with this one.
I used Stampin' Up! Regarding Dahlias stamps. Colour is Blackberry Bliss. The colour in real life is amazing! And this stamp set is just fabulous. I think I'll use it forever and ever.

Okay, I need some sleep! I'd love to see you join in this week with us. I'll keep my eye out for you. ;-)

P.S. If you could buy only one stamp set, which one would you buy?
