CAS(E) This Sketch 134

Hello!

I made it in time this week for CAS(E) This Sketch! Yay! The sketch inspiration is super this week. I was thinking of layering die cuts when I came across another inspiration idea that sent me in another direction completely. This is what I came up with.
I used Wplus9 Whole Lotta Happy stamps and Happy Trio die. To create my background I masked using a circle die-cut and sponged distress inks.
This sketch has me in graphic CAS heaven! I LOVE it!

The reason I created masked and sponged circles is because I was reading the new issue of Australian Cardmaking, Stamping, and Papercraft when a card LEAPT off the page at me. (Ignore my dodgy photo, the card really is fabulous.)
You can see a better picture of Linda's card over at her blog A Happy Scramper. Linda was inspired by Laura Bassen, which I think is a superb starting point for inspiration. ;-)

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you can join us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week. I'll be checking for you in the gallery!

CAS(E) This Sketch 133

Hello!

I've been away in Sydney for work, so I missed adding my card to CAS(E) This Sketch with the rest of the team this week. I've been looking forward to this sketch so I couldn't just skip the week! After dropping my daughter at the bus for netball at 6am this morning, I had a little quiet time all to myself. :-) This is what I came up with.
I used SU! Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, and Delicata Gold ink. I masked the Hello with a PTI die cut. The dots and spots are from PTI Rosie Posie.
I went out to dinner a couple of times in Sydney. I checked out the GPO in Martin Place (downstairs from the Westin Hotel), which is a massive basement bar, restaurant, cafe venue. My friend and I had tapas (and sangria) from Postales Bar and wood-fired pizzas from Wood. Very, VERY, yummy!  On Thursday I headed out to The Rocks (between Circular Quay and the Harbour Bridge) and after a quick drink at the Orient Hotel (just a regular pub) we headed to Phillips Foote for dinner, another pub with excellent steaks at an excellent price!

Okay, I'm off to a Copic workshop this morning where I will hopefully learn something. ;-) I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 132

Hello!

The sketch this week at CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge is just lovely! I had so many ideas swirling around. In the end, I couldn't resist that little tree image.
I used Papertrey Ink Teach and Inspire stamps. I just love that set. I have used it over and over and over! The die is PTI Spiral Notebook. Card base is SU! Gumball Green.
I hope you are inspired to join us in the fun!

Thanks for dropping by!

Birthday balloons!

Hello!

I really love stamping balloons! They make me happy!
I masked and stamped SU! Celebrate Today stamps. I used silver embossing powder to create a little bling.

I'm entering this into One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #18 - sparkle and shine!
and also Virginia's View Challenge #16 - 100% Stamped!
Thank-you for visiting me!

Celebrate!

Hello!

I found a little time this week-end (by ignoring the vacuuming) to make some cards. :-)

This card I made for Runway Inspired Challenge #87, which inspired me the second I saw it!
I sponged SU! Almost Amethyst along the side of my card and then stamped Altenew Modern Beadwork against this. The sentiment is Altenew Label Love. Super clean and simple, just the way I like it!
I'm also entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #16 - 100% stamped.
We're enjoying the most beautiful Winter's day here. We were promised the coldest day of the year. It didn't arrive. I was looking forward to that cold snap, but this beautiful blue-sky day is a wonderful consolation.

Thank-you for dropping by to visit me!

CAS(E) This Sketch 131

Hello!

It's been a busy week. I've been delivering some training at work. It's been a while since I've been at the front of the classroom, and I'd forgotten how exhausting it can be!

I'm here with my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. This week I finally tried a technique that has been on my "to do" list FOREVER - bokeh! It was fun and it was easy and I love how it turned out!
I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire and then stamped PTI White dots. Then I stamped the stars (Wplus9 Whole Lot of Happy) and the sentiment (MFT Complimentary Greetings). Cardstock is PTI Soft Stone, SU! Night of Navy and Whisper White.
How cool is this sketch? I love it!

I hope you are inspired to join the fun this week!

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 130

Hello!

How are you all? I'm doing well, enjoying the very mild weather we have here in Brisbane, and still anticipating that Winter might arrive sometime before Spring, lol!

I'm here to bring you my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch. I'm working on Christmas again. I've been looking forward to using these stamps. I've had them for a couple of months, but Christmas wasn't yet calling me. Now it is. My stash of Christmas cards is very low and needs some major boosting over the next few months so that I can send some cards this year.
The stamps are Mama Elephant Alpine Carolers coloured with Copics.
Isn't this sketch lovely? I still have all sorts of ideas for it. That's the beauty of a great sketch. :-)

Thank-you for popping in to visit!
