CAS(E) This Sketch 231

Hello!

You would not believe how many cards I made for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! I was starting to despair. They were all CAS (of course) and somehow they were not satisfying me AT ALL. Finally, I created a card that, while not a perfect take on the sketch, made me smile. :-) Oh, the angst of creating clean and simple cards! Some days it's impossible, haha!
I used Stampin' Up! Crazy About You stamps.
This sketch has so much more inspiration than my card shows! It's fabulous! I hope you're inspired to join us in the fun. :-)

Thanks for dropping by.

Fusion - Hello Cards

Hello!

I'm here with my latest card for Fusion Card Challenge where the inspiration is just awesome! I've again made a fusion card using both sketch and inspiration photo. I'm amazed, I'm usually a sketch OR inspiration girl, but when you can't choose between them you just need to use both. :-)
I think the cute little envelope dies are Wplus9. The sentiment is definitely Wplus9.
That inspiration photo has so much to work with. I didn't even get to using the flowers and greenery in my card!

I can't wait to see what everyone makes for this challenge. I'm betting on a colourful and beautiful gallery.

Thank-you for visiting!

The Challenge 90 - Sweet Florals

Hello!

Have you seen the inspiration photo over at The Challenge? Lesley is a master at creating inspiration, I tell you! That luscious chair has ideas swirling in my brain. This card is not the first idea that came to mind, but it's the first one that made it to paper. :-)
I used Stampin' Up! Jar of Love stamps.
Isn't this beautiful?! I would love to have this chair. It wouldn't suit my decor at all, but I'm not sure I would mind that little problem if I could have it sitting there looking pretty for me. ;-)

Thanks for coming to visit!

MUSE 223

Hello!

I made a card for Muse Challenge this week. When I saw Anita's muse card, I just couldn't resist joining in. I loved the brushstroke background with the black image and I created my card using that as the inspiration. My youngest daughter and most of her friends are turning 10 this year, so I made a card for the inevitable surge of birthday parties approaching. :-)
I used SU! Number of Years stamp set.
Isn't this a lovely card? It definitely inspired me!

Thanks for dropping by to visit!

CAS(E) This Sketch 229

Hello!

Our sketch this week at CAS(E) This Sketch, by Hannelie, has a graphic background and botanical silhouette. Quite the challenge! Of course, you don't have to take the sketch quite so literally - the background could be anything, as could the foreground. I just like to stretch my creativity when I have the chance and this idea intrigued me. So I thought about size, shape, colours, and finally came up with my card. I made it twice... the first time I forgot to centre the blocks... oops!
I used SU! Hey There Buds and PTI Building Blocks stamps.
I really can't wait to see what everyone makes with this sketch. It's a good one! :-)

Thanks for dropping by to visit me!

Fusion - Follow Your Dreams

Hello!

I looked at the inspiration for our latest Fusion Card Challenge and thought I would be using either the sketch or the inspiration. I never imagined that I would be making a fusion card using them both, but that is exactly what I've done! That's how inspiration strikes sometimes - it sneaks up on you and takes you by surprise! It helps that both the sketch and the inspiration image are awesome and full of possibilities. :-)
I used SU! Hardwood background and PTI Building Blocks stamps.
I hope that you are inspired to join us for this challenge. I certainly had a lot of fun making my card.

Thanks for visiting!

Make It Monday 290 - Stencils and Masking

Hello!

I just love it when I'm challenged to try a technique and finding that it makes BEAUTIFUL cards! This is what happened when I decided to give the current Papertrey Ink Make-It-Monday challenge a go. I watched Betsy's video and her card is gorgeous, and I had a little time up my sleeve today, so I rushed off to the craft desk. :-)

I'll be honest, this card took a little while due to the masking style I decided to use. I had to create all of those little masks and the stencil, and then sponge, and spray, and splatter, and then unmask and stamp, and then finally remove the stencil. BUT, what a reward after all that work! This photo really doesn't do justice to the way this card GLOWS.
I used PTI Strawberry Patch stamps and dies, which is one of my very favourite all time stamp sets. It gives me joy to give my old stamps some love.

Thank-you for coming by to visit me!

Happy Little Stampers July Watercolour Challenge - Blue

Hello!

It's the beginning of a new month and that means that I'm here with my watercolour card for Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge. For July the optional twist is BLUE.
I used HLS Especially For You stamps and coloured using Derwent Inktense pencils.
I just love blue and I know I'm going to love the gallery this month because blue watercolours are the best! :-)

Thanks for visiting me!
