My dog, Coco, is lost.
She went missing overnight between 30 and 31 December 2013 from the boarding kennels where we had placed her (for safekeeping) while we had a week at the beach. The kennels are in an area completely unfamiliar to her, about 15km away, and I have my doubts she can find her own way home.
Coco was lost from Sherbrooke Road, Willawong in Brisbane, Australia. We live in Kenmore.
Coco is a small/medium sized spoodle (poodle x cocker spaniel). She is black with a white chest and chin. She was clipped about three weeks ago. This photo is of her on Christmas Day.
Coco is microchipped. She did not have her collar on because the kennel remove collars when dogs come to stay.
We have listed Coco on the RSPCA lost listing. We have listed her at the pound and with the Brisbane City Council. She is listed on the Qld Lost Pet Register on Facebook, and with many other Facebook pages. She is listed as lost on Gumtree. I have friends and family sharing my Facebook posts to spread the word. The kids and I drove around Willawong, Durack, and Inala this morning putting posters along the main roads and in parks. My husband ran (in extreme heat) from the kennels to home, looking for her this morning. At this stage I don't know what more to do.
Coco is a much-loved family member. We miss her. I just hope that a nice person has taken her into their home and that they will eventually bring her to the pound, or a vet, or the RSPCA to return her to us.
Update 5 Jan 2014: We have been searching daily, we have broadened the search and still no word of Coco. I have shared more on Facebook and Twitter. I have spoken to people in the area and put up more lost notices. We advertised in the newsclassifieds and received no response. We will continue to search for our missing family member. My girls are missing their dog so much, and I'm sure that Coco misses us as well.
If you know where Coco is, please call RSPCA on 1300 36 37 36 and quote Pet ID 764791. They have her listed on Pet D Tect for us.
Our hearts are breaking.
Michelle.

I'm so sorry, Michelle. I pray she is found and returned to your family soon. Big hugs, Darnell
Really sorry to hear about this. I will be praying for you and yours.
Oh, Michelle. I'm so, so sorry. I will pray that you will find her. I told my husband and he said "I don't even know how irate I would be at the kennel". He thinks you should be able to sue them because, as you said, you put her there "for safekeeping".
Our friends lost their dog a few months ago. It took three days of CONSTANT searching for them to finally find her. When they found her, one of them had to jump in a pond to grab her because she kept running away from her! Silly dogs.
**hugs!!!**
Oh Michelle l do hope as you say, some kind person has her and will return her after the public holiday. She is beautiful and l can imagine how you are all feeling, we have a gold Spoodle and can't imagine life without him. I'm praying for her safe return. Hug's to you all. xxx

Oh, Michelle, I am so sorry this is happening! Our pets truly are a part of our families. Sending you tons of hugs, and hoping Coco stays safe and will be back home very soon!
Michelle, I'm hoping and praying that your beautiful Coco is found.
Oh, Michelle! I hope Coco finds her way home! ~Hugs~
Having just picked up our Kitty Abby from the Cattery Michelle, I can just imagine the horror you felt when told Coco had gone missing. We trust (and pay!) these people to look after our animals because we love them so. I hope she is found soon. I am so glad she is chipped, that will certainly help in finding her. Thinking of you ♥
So sorry to hear about Coco. Hope she comes home soon..
So sorry to hear about you dog! Hope she comes home soon!!!
Michelle--my heart is breaking to hear about your lost dog. I hope you find her soon. Please do not give up. After I lost my home during the '89 earthquake in SF, I looked for my cat for days and days. I eventually found her--she was picked up and taken in by someone in a completely different part of the city. She never told me what happened, but it was a joyful reunion. I know you will not stop looking. Hopefully, someone will take her in, give her a good meal, and contact you. Huge hugs. Joyce
Michelle- I hope Coco is found soon and you and your family are reunited. She is gorgeous and I really hope you get good news soon. Keeping you all and Coco in my prayers for a safe and healthy return.
