CAS(E) This Sketch #147

Hello!

I feel like I've gone off on one of my tangents with my interpretation of this week's sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch. Maybe because I was initially thinking of flowers and then went for a Christmas theme. :-)  I think you can still see the sketch in my card...
I used SU! Wonderland stamps and a little washi to create this card.
Tonight I'm at the end of year concert for my kids' strings ensembles. All of the ensembles, from 7 year olds through to 18 year olds, play in the final concert at school. It is made up of 3 junior ensembles, 3 intermediate ensembles, and 2 advanced ensembles. This time they are also playing a finale piece with all kids together (over 200 kids playing strings together!). I love these concerts, they give me goosebumps!

Thanks for dropping by to visit!

Fusion - Poppies and Purple

Hello!

It's time for another Fusion Card Challenge! This week's inspiration is some amazing poppies. I love poppies and I recently got my hands on some poppy stamps, yay! I loosely interpreted the sketch along with the inspiration to create my fusion card.
I used MFT Delicate Pretty Poppies stamps.
As we approach Remembrance Day on 11th November, this is the perfect inspiration.

I hope you're inspired to join in with us this challenge.

Thanks for visiting!

CASEing Kelly Blog Hop

Hello!

There is a fabulous blog hop underway! Kelly Latevola has been running an awesome series called CASEing Genius. I was one of the lucky ones who she CASEd. There are quite a few of us. I think Kelly is the Genius! We all do, which is why we thought we'd pay the compliment back and CASE Kelly. So much fun! We've each chosen three of Kelly's cards and CASEd them. I cannot wait to hop around and see what everyone else came up with.

For my inspiration I chose these three cards of Kelly's.

I love everything that Kelly makes, but her florals are at the top of my loves! From these three cards, I took dramatic colours; watercoloured, splattered, and patterned backgrounds; a bold sentiment paired with a sentiment banner. I used a darker, grungier style than Kelly and I came up with this:
I used Altenew Striped Florals,Wplus9 Whole Lotta Happy, and Hero Arts Dots and Flowers Background stamps.

What is a blog hop without some fun prizes? Leave a comment by 11.59pm EDT on Thursday October 29th along each stop in the hop to increase your chances of winning a prize from one of our sponsors:

CAS(E) This Sketch 146

Hello!

For CAS(E) This Sketch this week, I bring you this card.
I used PTI Strawberry Patch stamps, without the strawberries! I think that is a first for me. :-)

The sketch is this one - another awesome inspiration from Chrissy!
I spent Monday this week at the beach with my kids. They had a student-free day at school and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to visit family and enjoy the beach. We had a wonderful time! It was so nice to have a day off work to just relax. Of course, the work waited for me, and I've been playing catch-up for the rest of the week. ;-)

Thanks for visiting! I hope you join in the fun with us this week.

CAS(E) This Sketch 145

Hello!

For CAS(E) This Sketch this week, I went die-crazy!
I used PTI Wonderful Words: Friends stamps and dies. I spritzed with a splattering of gold Smooch.
Life is in busy mode right now. We're in the last term of school for the year. That means lots of music concerts and the associated preparation, throw in an eisteddfod for fun, too! We also have ballet concert preparation. My eldest has started up water polo season again, which runs through to March next year. That makes for very busy week-ends. 6.5 weeks of school left. In about 8 weeks, we'll be finished with all of that kid-based activity and launching into Christmas and Summer holidays. Yay!

Thanks for dropping by!

Fusion - Orange and Black

Hello!

Our inspiration for the new Fusion Card Challenge has lots of black and orange. While it is a Halloween inspiration photo, I've used only the colour scheme and the sketch for my card.
I used PTI Hello Foxy and Scripted stamps.
At first I didn't think I would be able to use the sketch. Layered sketches scare me. It turns out I could use it, and I love it!

I hope you're inspired to join us! I'm looking forward to seeing the gallery!

Edit to join in at ColourQ also

I'm glad you're my friend

Hello!

I found a little time to play with some fun challenges this week-end. Yay! I was inspired by a sketch and a colour combo.

I eased out of my comfort zone of CAS one-layered cards to make this layered offering. Still CAS, but super busy compared to my usual cards, haha!
I used MFT Delicate Pretty Poppies stamps, a few Copics, and some retired SU! DSP.

The sketch is over at The Challenge. I substituted a rectangle for the circle because my chosen sentiment and the circle dimensions would not work together. ;-)
The colour combo is from Pals Paper Arts. Such beautiful earthy colours. Yum!
Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 144

Hello!

For this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge, I've chosen to use one of my favourite colour combinations - yellow and black! It's bright and cheerful and this card makes me smile. :-)
I used PTI On The Farm stamps.
I will admit that I had to pull out the ruler to evenly space my ducks and to allow the right space for my sentiment. Sometimes the ruler is my number one tool!

I hope you're inspired to join in the fun!

Happy 13th Birthday!!

Hello!

Today I celebrate my first-born daughter's 13th birthday! I can't believe 13 years have passed already. She's growing into such a lovely young lady with a very kind heart.

This is her birthday card.
I used Altenew Wild Hibiscus and Label Love stamps. The tiny sentiment is Wplus9. I did some subtle colouring using Copics.

I'm entering this into the current Virginia's View challenge.

My daughter spent the last 10 days on Flinders Island, way down south in Tasmania, with her aunt and uncle. What a wonderful holiday! If I can get some of her photos on my computer, I'll share with you. Flinders is all natural beauty.

Flying from Flinders back to Melbourne, she arrived at Essendon Airport and needed to transfer to Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine (a short 8km away). There was no easy transport option that I was comfortable with her taking by herself, at least not on this first solo trip, so I flew down to meet her and transfer her home. While I waited for her flight I had a couple of hours spare, so I went walking around Melbourne. What a beautiful day!

The view from Southgate across to the city.
The view from Princes Bridge with Southgate on the left and the city on the right.
Flinders Street Station, always so photogenic.
Art at Southgate.
And last, but not least, the birthday girl herself.
It's so good to have her home. :-)

Thanks for coming to visit!

CAS(E) This Sketch 143

Hello!

It's time for another CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! Chrissy's sketch is AWESOME! I had so much fun thinking up a card for it. :-)  I ended up with flowers and a butterfly in soft pink and purple.
I used Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamps and SU! Hello You! dies. I stamped in Tuxedo Black and added just a touch of Copic colour and a little bit of silver glimmer.
I rarely fill the top of my card like this. It was so refreshing to use a different layout that challenged me to move out of my comfort zone. Thanks, Chrissy!

Please take a little time to visit the other team members and leave some love. They've made gorgeous cards this week, as always!

Thanks for dropping in!

Fusion Card Challenge - Falling Leaves

Hello!

My card for Fusion Card Challenge this week uses a little bit of rock-n-roll technique on my flowers. It's been a while since I've used this technique, and it was great to revisit it! I actually made a fusion card this time around, although you may need to squint to see how I followed the sketch, haha! I love the colours of the inspiration photo, so I stayed pretty close to those.
I used Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers stamps. Inks are Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede.
Thanks for coming to visit me! I hope you're inspired to join in the fun!
