Case Me A Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton 2025

 Hello!!

Michelle Lupton has been so kind to once again invite me to join her on her annual Christmas card extravaganza!

I’ve made a simple black and sparkly white card with a splash of colour.

The card I CASEd of Michelle’s is this one. I loved the simplicity of that single word.

Michelle has also CASEd one of my cards over in her blog Handmade by Michelle

CASE me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

 Hello!

There is something to be said for the loyalty of card making friends! Despite my lack of presence online, Michelle L always remembers that I'm out here dreaming of making cards! Michelle invited me once again to join her in CASE me a Christmas Card. For me, this is easy because Michelle is so creative and she makes many cards for me to choose from. For Michelle, it may not be so easy, as she'll have to go digging to find a card of mine, haha!

Here is my card! Apologies for the photography, I forgot to photograph during the day! If I have a chance, I'll fix this up with a better photo.

I used Gina K Designs Holiday Tapestry (background stamp) and Stampin' Up! Merry Christmas To All (stamp and die-cut) to create this CASE of Michelle's beautiful card (see below). I took the red, the Merry, and the circular motif off the side edge of the card as my inspiration.

Michelle also CASEd one of my cards HERE

Thank-you for visiting with me today. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

Case Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

Hello!

Can you believe that Christmas is approaching once again? What a year! I seriously didn't think that this year, at this stage, we would still be living in this COVID world, but here we are. I truly hope that next year brings happier times with Australians back travelling all over the country and the world, just like we always did before 2020 brought all this craziness, and 2021 decided it wanted a little more mayhem too.

I'm here today joining Michelle Lupton in her "Case Me A Christmas Card" event. Given my lack of card making and lack of sharing what I do create, I'm eternally grateful for Michelle's friendship and that she still invites me along for the fun! I think this may be my fifth year joining Michelle in making Christmas cards! This is my little reminder to get cracking on my Christmas card production for the year. You can find Michelle's card HERE.

I made two cards, using one of Michelle's cards as inspiration. I took the layout, changed it up a very tiny bit, adding some rainbow (it was rainbows or blue for Michelle), et voila! These cards are super clean, simple, and super quick to make... my type of Christmas card!

Here they are:

For the first card I used Stampin' Up Sweetest Time stamps and PTI sentiment. Inks are SU!
For the second card I used WPlus9 Be Merry Florals stamps, PTI sentiment, and SU! inks.

Michelle's inspiration card is this one:

Thanks so much, Michelle, for having me along again this year! You really do keep me inspired all the time.

Color Hues #9 - Poppies

 Hello!

Second day of the year, second card! It won't continue like this as I do need to return to work next week, but for now I'm enjoying a little crafting time. I'm joining in the Color Hues Challenge where we are challenged to use red and grey. I've created a simple one-layer card.

I used Stampin' Up! Painted Poppies (images) and Queen Anne's Lace (sentiment). I hand drew the stems. Colours are SU Poppy Parade and Smokey Slate.

I'm thinking of heading off to the movies today to see The Dry. I loved the book and am looking forward to the movie. I'm currently reading Jane Harper's most recent novel, The Survivors. I love how all of her books take you to a specific Australian landscape/community, I always immerse myself and get tempted to adventure to the region described. My adventuring is limited to Queensland at the moment, with state borders opening and closing at a moment's notice, depending on COVID-19 outbreaks it's not worth risking getting stuck somewhere and having to quarantine for two weeks when I get home. Luckily, Queensland is the best place on Earth!

Thank-you for visiting!

Freshly Made Sketches 466 - You are simply wonderful

 Hello!

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a fabulous 2021!

I'm hoping that 2021 will see me return to my art and my cardmaking, and in that spirit I decided to start the year off the way I hope to continue, by making a card!

To find some inspiration I took a wander through some challenge blogs and found a lovely sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Here is my card:

Stamp set is SU Bloom & Grow, coloured with Copics.

This is the sketch:

Thank-you for visiting!

Case me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

 Hello!

I've been invited again to make Christmas cards with Michelle Lupton and this time we cased each other's cards.

Here is my Christmas card:

I've been wanting to make something like this for such a long time (since I bought that lovely MFT PEACE die on it's first release years ago), and when I saw Michelle's card, I knew this was the time to CASE and create my own version!
I used SU Arrange a Wreath and Sweetest time stamps. Card is SU Poppy Parade and PTI White.

I took a photo right before I added the final layer to the card, and I like this version, too.

And here is the inspiration:

Thank-you so much for inviting me along again Michelle. I do so love the push to make more Christmas cards. Now I just need to make another 100 and send them this year. :-)

Thank-you everyone who has visited me, I appreciate it.

EDIT: System malfunctions mean this is posting late. My apologies to Michelle and anyone who actually tried to visit earlier!

Let's Celebrate You!

 Hello!

I made a card! I made it a couple of months ago, and it's taken me a while to get around to photographing and sharing. I'm working on a new computer and figuring out how to edit my photos again (moved from PC to Mac). I'm still not there, but getting there slowly.

It was my daughter's 13th birthday in August, and what better reason to pull out my card making supplies. I still can't bring myself to buy cards, and I've been using my extensive stash, but a 13th birthday deserves a brand new card. :-)

This card was made using StampinUp! Bloom and Grow stamps and SU! Stampin' Blends markers.

Thank-you for dropping buy. I have been buying some new Christmas stamps and I have high hopes that I will make and send them this year. Given the dismal state of the postal service, I need to get hopping on this and get them sent sometime in November to have a chance of arriving before Christmas.

I hope you are all doing okay. 2020 has been challenging on so many levels, and I'm very hopeful for a better 2021. In the meantime, I'm being grateful for the little things like my family (a big thing in my eyes), my job, and my home. Our restrictions were lifted to allow us to travel within the state and I've been heading to the beach to visit my family and get some time in the healing ocean water - nothing is better at relaxing me than a day at the beach with my girls.
See you soon with some Christmas goodness!

Challenge Me A Christmas Card - with Michelle Lupton

Hello!

I am so grateful for my card making friends that remember that I'm out here even when I'm not publicly crafting! I am even more grateful when one of them (Michelle) invites me to play and post something online. :-) Michelle has again invited me to take part in her annual "Challenge me a Christmas Card" event, and my challenge to her was to use the theme "Stars". I did manage to muck up the dates, and so I'm late to the party. That's what I get for not doing the regular posting thing. ;-) If you still made your way here to say hello to me and see what I've been up to, thank-you!

So onto my cards. Apologies for the quality of the photos, I'm dealing with iPhone photos taken with orange light due to the bushfire smoke in the skies (I'm in Brisbane, Australia, for those who aren't familiar with me). I used Stampin' Up! Shine Bright, which is a lovely simple Christmas stamp set. The photos don't quite show it, but this card is sparkling bright with Wink of Stella, and coloured with Copics. The die is Lawn Fawn.

Thank-you so much for visiting me! Please leave me a message to let me know you were here and I will come to visit you back. It's been a long time!

Wishing you all a peaceful festive season filled with happiness and fun.

Challenge Me A Christmas Card - with Michelle Lupton

Hello friends!!

Long time, no blogging from me. I've had a bit of a challenging year (very challenging). I'll share more about that in another post. I'm hoping 2019 will be much, MUCH better and I'll be able to return to my crafting. Despite my disappearance from blogland, I have some friends out there who just didn't let me disappear and checked on me regularly. One of those AWESOME people is Michelle Lupton. Not only did Michelle check in on me, she also asked if I would join her in her Challenge Me A Christmas Card series, even though I haven't made a card in a year. That's faith for you! I've had to dust off the cobwebs, for sure! Haha!

My challenge to Michelle was Red, Green, and Gold. This is my version:
To make this card I used SU! Mistletoe Season stamps and Merry Christmas thinlits dies. Colours are SU! Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Altenew (green, I forget the name!).

Here's another photo, because this one was a bit tricky to photograph with all the vellum and shiny letters on top:

Now head on over to check out Michelle's Red, Green, and Gold card and leave her some love.

Michelle, I cannot tell you how much your small messages to me this year have meant, even when I didn't reply. You probably don't even remember most of the times you reached out, but they really made a difference to me. And so far this year, your Christmas card is the one and only one I've received, so it is extra specially treasured. Thank-you for being a good friend. I hope I can get to Melbourne some time so we can catch up in person. :-)

Thank-you everyone for visiting. I hope I can return in the new year with more cards and join back into the beautiful card making community again.

Have a wonderful Christmas! Spread some kindness! And I hope your holiday season is filled with love and laughter.

Advent Calendar Extravaganza is -the- festive event of the season! This ‘hop with a twist’ was dreamed up by Taheerah Atchia and features surprise destinations each day! Joining in the fun with Taheerah are ONE HUNDRED special guests - each serving up some fantastic Christmas inspiration! Just like an Advent Calendar, you’ll never know where you’re going to be visiting next until you ‘open the door’!

Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises await behind the door!

Today's sponsor is Lawn Fawn and I decided that I needed some new Lawn Fawn Christmas goodness (not that I need an excuse for new stamping goodies). I went searching for those cute Christmas penguins but they were very, very elusive (sold out everywhere) and so I went back to my wishlist and discovered that these gorgeous little Winter Sparrows were back in stock (you would not believe the number of times I've tried to buy these cuties). Yay! I think you'll be able to tell that I've had fun making these cards. This year is going to be all about singing sparrows as I send out my (very late) Christmas cards.
I used Winter Sparrows stamps and dies combined with Outside In Stitched Rectangles dies and added a little Copic colouring.

Patterned paper is Stampin' Up!

It’s not a party without a prize - and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Lawn Fawn so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post - then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too! You must leave a comment on Taheerah’s blog as well as mine in order to be eligible to win! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 23:59 EST on 31st December 2017 to enter.

Don’t forget Advent Calendar Extravaganza runs from 1st-25th December inclusive so make sure you visit taheerah-atchia.com every day for fabulous inspiration and amazing prizes every single time!

Merry Christmas!

CAS(E) This Sketch 246

Hello!

Sometimes I look at a sketch and I know exactly what I'm going to make, and this sketch for CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge was like that. And then I made what I imagined and I thought, "Oh no, I can't share that!", haha! It didn't turn out. So I went back to the drawing board and came up with this card, which is almost exactly the opposite of my original idea. It worked much better. ;-)
I used SU! Tin of Tags stamps, an old SU! little snowflake, and PTI sentiment.
This sketch is gorgeous and is crying out for some emboss resist with watercoloured background. I cannot wait to see the gallery!

Thanks for visiting!

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton - washi

Hello!

I'm so excited! A while ago my friend Michelle Lupton (one of many fabulous friends named Michelle/Michele here in blogland) threw out an invitation for people to suggest Christmas card ideas/challenges and to join her in making a Christmas card using the same idea. I put my hand up and expressed that I just LOVE a challenge and that I would take whichever idea Michelle wanted to throw my way. :-)

Well, a short time later Michelle let me know that we would be using the same washi tape to create our cards. Washi. You won't find many of my cards with washi, but I have been known to use it on occasion (I love it, I'm just not confident with it). This washi is super gorgeous and sparkly silver against a dark indigo blue (the photo really doesn't do it justice). I added some pale grey snowflakes, a cheery Christmas sentiment, and a few shiny silver sequins to finish my card.
I can't wait to see what Michelle has created with this washi. It's sure to be creative and super cool.

Thank-you for joining me. Be sure to pop over to Michelle's blog to check out her version, too.

PS. If I can get a daytime photo of this card, I might do a quick switcheroo so that you can truly appreciate it's sparkly-ness.

CAS(E) This Sketch 245 - Retro 88

Hello!

I've created a simple Christmas card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch. I left off the two dots because I just couldn't figure out how to work them into my design (oops!). The rest of the design team did a much better job than me on that one. ;-)
I used PTI Spruce and Sprigs and sentiment stamps.
I still love this sketch! The last time I used it, I stuck much more closely to the design.

I hope you're inspired to join us in the fun with this cool sketch.

Thanks for dropping by!

Fusion - Autumn Leaves

Hello!

It's time for a new Fusion Card Challenge and our inspiration is autumn leaves. I've chosen to make a Christmas card using the colours from the inspiration photo and basically used the sketch (squint your eyes to see it).
I used a Hero Arts music background stamp and Wplus9 Be Merry stamps.
Such a beautiful inspiration. I just know we'll have a gorgeous gallery. :-)

Thanks for visiting me!

CAS(E) This Sketch 244 - Noel

Hello!

For CAS(E) This Sketch 244 I've created a Christmas card. Halloween cards aren't really a "thing" here in Australia, and we don't have Thanksgiving, so I'm merrily on my way to making a pile of Christmas cards in an attempt to get them in the mail on time.

I love Christmas cards! I have so much fun making them. (I really like receiving them, too.) This card was no exception with its bright and colourful baubles. :-)
I used Uniko Christmas Sparkle stamps for the baubles and the sentiment is PTI. I coloured using Copics.
I hope you are inspired by this cool and graphic sketch and join us in the fun this week!

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 242 - Happy Birthday!

Hello!

Happy 15th Birthday to my big girl! 15! I cannot believe it! My cute little baby has turned into a beautiful young woman seemingly overnight.

For her card I used this week's CAS(E) This Sketch as inspiration.
I used Altenew Beautiful Day stamps. Sentiment is Wplus9.
Such a great sketch and the design team have made some beauties with it. :-)

Thanks for visiting!

Hello!

With the start of October begins the October Watercolour Challenge at Happy Little Stampers! This month's optional twist is GOLD. My card has a rainbow watercolour background, gold embossed peony, and then spritzed liberally with golden Smooch.
I used Altenew Beautiful Day stamps and Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolours.
I am betting our golden gallery this month is going to be absolutely fabulous!

CAS(E) This Sketch 241 (Retro 23)

Hello!

We have a retro sketch this week at CAS(E) This Sketch! The sketch was originally used in challenge number 23. I have been playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch since the beginning and I did enter challenge 23 with this card. The sketch is still awesome and I enjoyed using it again. :-)
I used SU! Banner Blast stamps and the stampamajig got a good workout for this one. ;-)
I hope you're inspired to join in the fun!

Thanks for dropping by to visit.
