CAS(E) This Sketch 174

Hello!

It's time for CAS(E) This Sketch! This week's sketch has stars on it. Like flowers and butterflies, I find stars hard to resist! So I didn't stray far from the sketch in making my card.
I used PTI Sparkle & Shine stamps and dies and Wplus9 star stax dies.
You don't have to use stars, those stars can be anything! Go ahead! Get more creative than I did, haha! :-) It's a great sketch and I can't wait to see what everyone does with it.

The rest of the design team have made some awesome cards. You should definitely take some time to visit them all and leave some love.

Thanks for visiting me!

Glittering Christmas Peace

Hello!

I was so inspired this week by the dimensional stars I've seen around blogland. I was curious how these stars worked, so I created one for myself. It turns out that it is just a matter of careful scoring and folding to get the star to sit up nicely like that!

Once I had that star, I just had to use it, and I had a few challenges in mind. Here is my card.
I used Wplus9 Star Stackers die and PTI Snowflake Serenade stamps. Sentiment is silver embossed. The star is made from SU! glitter paper.

I'm entering into three  challenges.

Muse Christmas Visions with this gorgeous inspiration. I love a black background Christmas card, so dramatic!
My layout was inspired by the December Sketch Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.
And last, but not least, Virgina's View Challenge where it's All About Glitter! This is Virginia's last challenge. I'm crossing my fingers that she'll be back after a little rest. This is one of my very favourite challenges, probably because Virginia is the sweetest person out there. :-)
Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch #75

Hello!

It's time for a new sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch challenge! The card I made this week uses inlaid die cuts. I wanted it to be flat and easily mailable because it is for my Dad, who is in Italy. When I send him cards that are popped up I always wonder if they'll make it there in one piece! It is my Dad's birthday this week. The card is probably still in the mail. Italian mail can take a while...  My Dad isn't a blingy type of guy, but I did sneak in a shiny yellow star! Happy Birthday, Dad!
I used wPlus9 Whole Lotta Happy stamps and Star Stax die. The tag die is PTI. Colours are SU! Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight.
While I had this fabulous sketch in front of me, I also made another card. This one didn't photograph well, so I'll explain it. I punched some hearts and then ran the hearts and card base through the BigShot, causing debossed hearts across the card front. I filled these with Wink of Stella sparkles. The tag I made using Mama Elephant dies and stamps.
I've told you before how much I love these little pandas... my love has not faded yet. ;-)

Thank-you for visiting me! I hope you join us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

Happy Birthday, Lynn!

Hello!

Today is Lynn's birthday (that's Lynn from The Mango Boys and Me)! What better excuse for making a card than the birthday of one of the sweetest bloggers out there? :-)

I am playing along with Less Is More for the first time in a very long time. The inspiration picture and the challenge - to use a pop of colour on a dark background - enticed me! This is my take on it.
I used PTI Snowflake Flurries stamps. The star was made using a mask (made from wPlus9 Star Stax) and stamping in white ink and then chalking in two tones of pink. The little tags are made using Tiny Tags II, inked in SU! Pretty In Pink and Primrose Petals.

This is the inspiration picture.
I always think fireworks when I use PTI Snowflake Flurries stamps, so when I saw this picture, that was the stamp set that came straight to mind.

Lynn, I hope you have a fabulous day and that your boys all look after you like a princess! Happy Birthday!

A study in YELLOW

Hello!

If you don't like yellow, you had better switch away now, LOL! I've made a card for CAS(E) This Sketch #32 and CASology #48. It's bright and happy!
I used Daffodil Delight card, Wplus9 star die, PTI Star Prints, Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments, and a little washi.

The sketch is this one:
And the colour came from this cue:
In my last post I was mentioning my daughter's swim meet. The super news is that in all six races she swam personal best times. In one race she took 20 seconds of her previous time (100m freestyle). In another race, her PB time almost won her a medal (missing out by a split second). I'm a very proud Mummy tonight. :-)  All of her hard work in the pool is showing results. She is feeling pretty good, too.

Thanks for coming by to visit!

Starry birthday

Hello!

I'm sneaking in a quick blog post while my little one dilly-dallies around instead of getting ready for school. I've nagged 500 times, so now I'm holding my breath before exploding.

My card:
I used wPlus9 Star Stax, Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments. Colours are SU! Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Perfect Plum.

My card is made in response to two challenges. The Play Date Cafe Challenge #184 colours.
And the sketch from Seize The Birthday Challenge #18.
I've been meaning to join in at Seize The Birthday since the beginning, but keep missing the deadline. I think I've squeezed in in time this time! :-)

Thanks for visiting.

Dynamic Duos #54

Hello!

I'm here today with my card for Dynamic Duos Challenge #54 where the colours this week are Bashful Blue and Midnight Muse.

My husband asked me to make him a card that his running group could all give to a friend's father for his 90th birthday. The card had to be big enough for them all to sign. The birthday "boy" is one of the nicest men I've met. He is a retired builder and a few years ago he supervised my hubby doing some building work around here. Being about 85 at the time, we didn't want him climbing ladders, but we really needed his building expertise, since we were repairing posts that held our veranda and veranda roof up! He's helped out a few times in various ways. He's a good man.

Anyway, onto the card! It's 8 1/4" x 6".
I used SU! Bashful Blue, Night of Navy (I don't have Midnight Muse), and Whisper White. The dies are wPlus9 Star Stax. The sentiment and little star are from PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday.
At this point, I will say that I am very sad that Bashful Blue is retiring. If there are any SU! demos out there who still have a reinker available, please let me know. It has sold out in Australia, and I haven't found anyone who has one in their stock.

Now, I hope you're still with me! After you go and visit the rest of the Dynamic Dynamos, go and make a card and join in the fun! ;-)

I'm also linking up over at Paper Issues where they're inviting us to use dies. :-)

Thanks for coming to visit!
