Hello!
I completely intended to make a fusion card for Fusion Card Challenge this week, but somehow got myself completely distracted by the fun sketch.
This is the great inspiration. I've seen lots of hummingbird stamps around lately, so I am hoping they come out to play for this challenge!
I've just had my friends over from Christchurch in New Zealand to visit. It was awesome! We haven't seen each other for about ten years and I've missed them like crazy. They had a holiday on the Gold Coast and then came to us for a few days. We did a trip up the Brisbane River on the City Cat ferry and had lunch at Southbank one day, which was lovely. Another day we spent shopping in the City, which was fun! They're home now. I hope we see each other sooner than ten years' time!
Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 82
Hello!
Well, hasn't this week just whizzed by? Here we are again with a new sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! This week the sketch has a cute little monster in the corner. Not having a monster to work with, I chose the next cutest thing in my stamp collection... you guessed it... a PANDA! A dancing panda in a flurry of flowers at that!
I used Mama Elephant Pandamonium and Papertrey Ink Sweet Speech stamps. Inks are Memento Luxe and Mama Elephant.
This week is Jen's last week with us on the CTS design team. I'm going to miss her on the team, we all will.
I am away from home for work again this week. I can't wait to get home to my girls and my hubby. I miss them when I'm away.
Thank-you for visiting me. I hope to find some time this week-end to come visiting some of you, too!

Watercolour for Card Makers - Day 1
Hello!
Watercolour for Card Makers Online Card Class started yesterday. Last night I sat down to work on my day 1 homework and everything I did didn't turn out how I envisioned. So I put it all aside and went to bed. I love watercolour, but for a perfectionist CAS girl, it is very challenging!
So tonight I went back to try again and I saw one of the panels I made last night sitting there. I decided it was quite pretty after all, lol! So I finished the card. :-)
This card uses the emboss resist technique with a soft watercolour wash background. I fused the lessons from Jennifer Rzasa and Kristina Werner to create this card.
I have started another couple of cards tonight, but they're wet, so I have to wait until tomorrow night to play with them again. I need a few days off work to play with these techniques instead of trying to squeeze it all into the hour between the kids going to bed and me going to bed. ;-)
Thanks for coming by to visit! I hope to be back tomorrow night.

These colours are just fabulous, and I had the perfect paper to match, lucky me!
Not much to say. I'm a bit tired after a busy day at work. My brain has shut down already! It must be bedtime. ;-)Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday!
Hello!
I know, I know... I haven't been here for a couple of weeks and then I post twice in two seconds. It isn't fair! The problem is that a deadline is approaching, and it is now or never. Sorry about that! ;-)
This sweet little card is being entered into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where they are having a birthday celebration.
I used Mama Elephant Pandemonium, Party Kit, and PTI Sweet Speech. Inks are Mama Elephant, Memento Luxe, and Memento.
Yes, I had those pandas out, and I was determined they'd have a fruitful outing. Brace yourself, they may show up again soon. Don't you love my panda's little pink bow?
Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple 3 - Day 1
Hello!
It's Day 1 of Clean & Simple Cardmaking #3 - One Layer Cards. At the beginning of class there was a note for us "purists" (I think they were talking to me) about the various definitions of a one-layer card. I've revised my definition for this class to be "flat card". The exciting part of this new definition is that I'll have MANY more options when making cards. :-) It also frees me up for nights when I really don't have much time to craft (which is most nights) but want to make a card for class - sometimes one-layer can take a LOT more time!
We were shown three techniques today, and I've used one of them so far. The technique I chose was die-cut inlay as demonstrated by Debby Hughes (who I adore). I didn't stray too far from Debby's design due to lack of time to consider my design options. I will definitely explore this technique further, it's so effective!
I'll probably bling this one up later on. Tonight it's after bedtime, and my blinging can take me quite a while! I have used PTI Sweet Speech dies, Wonderful Words: Friends stamp and die. Paper is SU! Watercolour Wonder. Card is SU! Smokey Slate and PTI Basic White. Ink is Mama Elephant Smoke.
And before I go, another picture of my chickens. I have heard chicken-owning bloggers calling their hens "fluffy butts" and I used to wonder what they were talking about. It turns out that chickens really do have fluffy butts, lol!
Thank-you for coming by to visit!

A little bit of green
Hello!
I have some new stamps. I couldn't wait to try them out. I had to wait DAYS before I got a spare moment. It was an agonizing wait, lol! Here is the first of the cards I made.
I am so happy with this card! It worked better than I had hoped. The green and espresso brown speech bubbles really pop off this one-layer card in real life. I'm not sure if you can get the effect on the computer, or not. This card involved a little masking to create the effect. I used PTI Doodlie-Do and Sweet Speech stamps. Inks are SU! Early Espresso and Mama Elephant Mojito.
I hesitated to get Doodlie-Do, even though I loved it at first sight. The hesitation was that some of the most striking examples I've seen are coloured with Copics, and I don't have Copics. But, it turns out that it works without being coloured, and in another card I made, I coloured with Inktense pencils and that worked too. :-) I am in love with this set! I have several ideas brewing. The Sweet Speech set fills a little gap in my stamp collection very nicely. They really are sweet!
I am entering into three challenges. In no particular order, I have entered:
The Card Concept. I'm not sure what style this is, CAS or CAG. Is it even clean with all those flowers? It was relatively simple to make.
CAS(E) This Sketch.
Make It Monday. We were asked to add texture to a one-layer card. I have used masking mixed with bold speech bubbles against a doodle background.
Today I had my Mum over for lunch to celebrate her birthday, which was yesterday. We had a lovely morning of playing cards (500) and a light lunch of salad and meats. It was really nice to spend some relaxed time together.
Thanks for coming by to visit!
