CAS(E) This Sketch 163

Hello!

I missed CAS(E) This Sketch last week. I'm sure you didn't miss me, my teamies offer awesome inspiration with or without me, but I'm back this week with a card.
I used Avery Elle Modern Leaves.
I've been battling a cough. It's not letting go just yet and I'm exhausted. My ribs hurt! My work is crazy busy and I think I need to take a little rest to get better. Easter will be here soon - a nice four day week-end is just what I need. :-)

I hope you're inspired to join us in the fun this week!

Thanks for dropping by!

Avery Elle September challenge and a CASE

Hello!

I was wandering through some blogs this morning and was reminded that the September challenge is still on over at Avery Elle. I have had an idea floating around in my head for a while for this one, so I decided to sit down and make it today.
I used Avery Elle Modern Leaves stamps. Ink is PTI Fresh Snow, Hawaiian Shores, Versamark, SU! Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Distress Inks Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Crushed Olive. SU! White embossing powder. Twinery twine in Caribbean. Sequins are Avery Elle.

The inspiration photo had a lovely retro feel, and I tried to mimic that with my blended background. For the chairlift, I created a string of party lights by stamping white pigment ink and then overstamping with dye ink (because I don't yet have coloured pigment inks).
Before I wandered downstairs to my craft desk to make the above card, I popped over to see what the amazing Laura Bassen had made recently. I was so inspired that I CASEd her card immediately. My card isn't quite as bright, but I like this technique so much I think I may make several more using a variety of papers. Thanks for the fantastic idea, Laura!
I used Ranger Archival Ink, SU! Ornament Keepsakes die, My Minds Eye paper, PTI basic white card.

Thank-you for coming by to visit.

Dynamic Duos #69

Hello!

I have a rare week-end at home this week-end. I'm loving it! I did have to do the gymnastics run (twice), I did a grocery run, and I took my dog for her Spring haircut, but other than that I've been home doing a little housework, attempting to catch up a bit after the past month of non-stop activity.

Saturday was election day here in Australia. Since voting is compulsory here, we were all out in force. I didn't realise so many people lived around here, LOL! It's highly likely we'll end up with a change of government, but I'll be deep asleep before anyone claims victory, I'm sure. I usually love watching election night commentary, but tonight I'm out of steam.

What I'm REALLY here for is that we have a fun colour combination for you this week at Dynamic Duos Challenge #69! Old Olive and Pacific Point. Something about these colours combined together really sings to me. :-)
I used Avery Elle Modern Leaves stamps. Ink is SU! Old Olive and Pacific Point, PTI Fresh Linen. Card is PTI Fresh Linen.
The Dynamic Dynamos have some amazing work again this week. Consider paying them a visit!

Thanks for dropping by to visit me!

Dynamic Duos #68

Hello!

Phew! What a busy few weeks! I'm happy to report that we had an AMAZING long week-end away last week-end. I took lots of photos, and when I get a moment at home, I will sit down and put together a story (or two) on my other blog (Happy Snap Michelle). My kids took their first ski lessons, and managed to ski a few (slow) runs with us afterwards. I remembered how much I LOVE snow skiing!  This week-end we are at our nephew's wedding at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. A wonderful celebration in a beautiful location!

This week at Dynamic Duos, we get to work with Perfect Plum and another colour of our choice. I chose Primrose Petals.
I used PTI Round Repeats, Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background, and Avery Elle Modern Leaves stamps. Ink is SU! Perfect Plum and Primrose Petals. Card is SU! Perfect Plum and PTI Basic White.
While I had these colours out, I couldn't resist making another card. This time I added PTI Soft Stone to the mix. I'm loving these three colours together!
I used PTI Rosie Posie, Stylish Sentiments:Birthday stamps. Ink is SU! Perfect Plum, Primrose Petals, PTI Soft Stone, Memento Tuxedo Black. Card is PTI Soft Stone and Basic White.

My gorgeous team mates have created some fabulous cards this week again, too! I'm sure they'd love a visit!

Thanks for coming by!

Dynamic Duos #60

Hello!

The weeks fly by so fast! I wish my week-ends would linger a little longer, LOL! This week at Dynamic Duos, we have the super colour combination of Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit. This is what I came up with.
I used Avery Elle Modern Leaves stamps. Colours are SU! Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, and Memento Tuxedo Black.
This colour combination is so rich! I really love it! The rest of the team have designed more beautiful cards for your inspiration also. Why don't you pop over to visit them, too?

Thanks for coming by to visit me.

Sequins!

Hello!

I'm slipping in at the last minute with an entry to Muse #23 where the Guest Designer is Anita (in France). I love Anita's work, and I couldn't resist playing along. This is my card.
I used PTI Round Repeats and Avery Elle Modern Leaves (sentiment) stamps. Colours are SU! Daffodil Delight, Memento Grey Flannel and Tuxedo Black. Sequins are Avery Elle.

This is Anita's card.
You can see that I pretty much took the layout and turned it on its side. I changed the colour scheme to work with the sequins that I own, because I just HAD to use sequins when CASEing this gorgeous blingy card! :-)

I have another shot of my card, to show you that my sequins really do shine.
I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

Before I go, I'll show you a quick couple of photos I took this afternoon. All day it has been rainy and very cloudy here. At sunset, the sky was still covered in low grey clouds, but at the horizon was a small gap where the sun was shining through. The sun lit up the clouds so that they shone orange, turning everything around orange for about 15 minutes. A beautiful colourful end to a dreary day. This photo is unedited, so not showing perfectly what I saw, but it's close.
And this is my daughter turned orange while she edits her own sunset photo on her iPod.
Thanks for coming to visit me!
