Hello!
Second post for the day. I just made a card for Make It Monday #110, and I didn't want to delay, just in case I miss the deadline! This week the technique is collage elements. At first glance, I didn't think I'd be able to do this technique. My brain has a hard time when too many elements get added all together. It turns out that I can reconcile lots of elements with my CAS-loving brain! Yay!
We have another overcast day here today, and using my light to take the photo has exploded the colour a bit. No amount of editing would bring it back to being quite as pretty as it is in real life (I'm very sad about this, because this card is super pretty). Just imagine that the bright coral is slightly less bright...
I used PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Text Style II, Strawberry Patch, Heart-2-Heart #10, Turning a New Leaf. Colours are PTI Berry Sorbet, SU! Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede. Dies are PTI H2H#10, and Filigree Border.
I used the colour scheme from ColourQ #183.
Thanks for visiting!

One Layer Fusion
Hello!
It's been a long time since I've played One Layer Wednesay, which makes me sad. My very first ever one layer card was made for OLW, and it was SO DIFFICULT! I think I made about five versions, and none were fabulous. These days I make one-layer cards with a little more ease and less panic. I'm entering One Layer Wednesday #134, which is on Ardyth's blog this week. The challenge is to use "3". I used three stamps and three colours.
This is also my second entry for Fusion Challenge #1. This time I'm using the sketch only and entering Jackie's challenge. I flipped the sketch upside down (there is a little story about distraction when stamping repeat patterns which led to the upside down sketch).
Despite the overlap of the squares (necessary to get those lines to match up) and the slightly wonky edges, I really like how this card turned out. The imperfection feels okay in this case.
I'm loving Fusion! I love this concept. :-)
Thanks for coming by!

Fusion #1 - A New Challenge!
Hello!
There's a new challenge on the block! I've been waiting eagerly for this one. It's called FUSION, and it's exciting! I will admit that I had several ideas flying around as soon as I saw the inspiration. This card is the first that I made into reality.
This is the inspiration. I used Lesley's Inspiration Photo and tried to recreate that beautiful cake with stamps. I added the frilly plate edge, and I added the black and white tablecloth as well. ;-)
Don't be surprised to see me back with another Fusion card this week. I am seriously inspired! I love it when that happens. ;-)
Thanks for dropping by to visit.

Hello, Hello!
Hello!
I needed to make a card for a young man, just to say hello, and to let him know that we're thinking of him. I'm not great at "young man" cards, but I think I've done okay with this one.
I've had this kraft patterned paper for ages. When I ordered it, I didn't realise quite how dark it was, and I've struggled to use much of it. I think it works perfectly here. :-) To make this card I used no stamps. I used PTI die Wonderful Words: Hello and PTI impression plate Woodgrain. Card base is SU! Crumb Cake.
Thanks for coming to visit me.

Dynamic Duos #46
Hello!
Sometimes in the middle of making a card, I lose my way. So I walk away from the craft desk, leaving what I was working on just sitting there. Often I'll come back and start in a new direction. Other times, as with this card, I'll come back and take a look with fresh eyes and decide I actually like it. While this card isn't exactly what I was envisioning when I started making it, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Somehow the night photography has made the pink a deeper colour than in real life, but you get the idea. ;-)
I used PTI Heart Prints, stamped in SU! Primrose Petals and Pool Party. The patterned paper is SU! More Amore. I also added a little bit of washi tape.
This week's Dynamic Duos Challenge #46 calls for us to use Primrose Petals and a colour of our choice. I chose Pool Party. I usually play Dynamic Duos as an extreme cardmaking challenge, using only the two colours listed and no neutrals (other than the card base). That is one of the things I really love about this challenge, the limit on colour adds to the creativity. This time, I decided to add some neutrals by way of the grey and cream on the paper, and I'm okay with that decision so far. :-)
I'm also popping this card into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.
I'm back to work today. I wish I was on holidays with my kids. They have another two weeks before returning to school for second term. I do have another couple of days off work at the end of next week, so it isn't all bad, LOL!
Thanks for coming to visit me!

Soft and pretty CASE
Hello!
I found some crafting time today, yay!
I made this card.
I used PTI Harvest Berries, Background Basics: Circles, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday. Colours are SU! Barely Banana and Pale Plum. Card base is PTI Vintage Cream.
This is a very literal interpretation of Julie Ebersole's gorgeous card over at CASE Study #134. The design was so beautiful, I really wanted to give it a try. (Everything Julie makes is beautiful, I could CASE her all day long, every day).
I used the beautiful soft colours from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #175
The weather is coming over all stormy again. I am wishing I'd hung out that second load of washing earlier...
Thanks for coming to visit!
