I'm here with the new Fusion Card Challenge! I just adore the inspiration this time. I'll probably say that every week, lol! But I really mean it! :-)
Last challenge, our first for the "new" Fusion and the first for 2014 had so many AWESOME entries! Woo hoo! It was so exciting to visit so many fabulous designers.
Onto my card. This time I did not use the sketch. I had intended to, but this card had other ideas when it was creating itself. I think that the inspiration photo was just so lovely, that I had enough inspiration right there! The fact that it has my favourite colour (yellow) and mixes it with grey, black, and woodgrain... oh, yum! Irresistible!
I used Simon Says Stamp Flower Friend and Sketchy Banners stamps and dies. I also used PTI woodgrain impression plate for that kraft panel, and Mama Elephant Femme Frames for the top panel.
The Fusion inspiration is this:
For those of you who visit regularly, you may have noticed my absence over the past couple of weeks. I am still searching for my dog Coco. I have discovered that a broken heart is not conducive to crafting, not for me anyway. All of my energy has gone into searching for Coco, thinking of new ideas for how to find Coco, and then making a superhuman effort to be as "normal" as possible for my kids (and also to try to function at work). My husband has been my rock. He's an amazing man. I'm truly blessed to have my gorgeous family, and extra-blessed that they understand how I feel about Coco's absence. I hope that sometime soon she will be home. Edit with news: Coco was returned home. A good samaritan family found her 9km from where she went missing, 19 days after she went missing. She came home on the week-end, very skinny, but happy to be home. Vet checks show that she is okay, other than some infection. She has an infected eye, slightly torn pad on her paw, and a broken lower canine tooth. You can see some updated photos on her Facebook page.
On a happy note, we got chickens. Four little chicks that are now 1 1/2 weeks old. Two black australorp hybrids and two light sussex. They are very cute. They were ordered before Christmas (they are my Christmas present). They are growing up very quickly.
adorable card...love it...and the chicks? LOVE.
Awww, those little chicks are adorable, Michelle! And I love your card! Awesome use of those beautiful colors!
This is lovely! The one layer look but with more behind and I love the stitch marks around the edge. Cute chickies too!
I'm heartbroken for you, Michelle. I hope Coco returns one day, too.
As for the card, I love it! The tiny flowers look so pretty and I love the wood grain embossed layer underneath. It adds to the card nicely. I really like the flowers in the fusion challenge. So pretty!
So many lovely textures on this card Michelle! the woodgrain peeking out on the edges, the banner sentiment and little bling in amongst the blooms! So sorry Coco hasn't been found yet....
What a beautiful card, Michelle!! Love the design very much!
Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear that Coco is missing, I know our terrier is like another child so I can imagine how heartbroken you are.... I really hope you find her soon..

I am so sorry to hear that you are still looking for Coco. I hope she comes home soon. Your chickadees are so cute and your card is bright and cheery. I understand how a heart can be too heavy to craft. Sending you hugs from San Diego.

Gorgeous card Michelle - I can't believe you ordered your chickens to match LOL!

Wow Michelle - I really adore your card! I remember you using the flower friend a lot last year and I think I may have to get it along with the sentiment stamps.Which ink did you use for the sentiment banner? I love the chicks too - they match the colours for the challenge? What does Coco think about the chicks?
My heart is heavy for you. I hope that you find Coco soon.
So Gorgeous Michelle! Your card is Fantastic, the way you put your colors together so pretty :) Love<3
Your card is really sensational, Michelle! You are such a wonderful member of the DT!!
I think I commented on FB when Coco was returned; I was so happy for you when I heard the good news! I knew you were suffering so w/o her.
How fun that you have baby chickens, too! Like everything else, if only they could stay babies for like three years!!
I hope you are enjoying your week! Hugs, Darnell
